Well, we are continuing our pattern of customizing our study plans again as we enter March! Rather than moving straight from Matthew to Mark, we’ve decided to do some more digging as a family into what it means to be made in the image of God. We’ll be reading and meditating on how humans being made in God’s image affects the way we see ourselves and the way we see and treat others.

Studying the parables together was such a rich experience that I really look forward to having some more of these interactive discussions as a family. This study may not be something that others would use, but I wanted to share it anyway just in case it would be of interest. I’m finding it helpful to share these study plans even if only to keep myself on track throughout the year, and to keep a record for how they go. So without further ado, here is our study on humans as image-bearers, and what they means for us:

  • Humans are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27-30, 2:15)
  • Bible Project video: Image of God
  • Humans are wonderfully made (Psalm 139)
  • Repentance is part of being human (Psalm 51)
  • Jesus brings the “Upside Down Kingdom” (Matthew 20:1-16)
  • Bible Project Video: Gospel of the Kingdom
  • Jesus Models Humility (Philippians 2:1-11)
  • Bible Project video: The Last will be First
  • Unity & Love among God’s People (Ephesians 4)
  • Loving God includes loving each other (1 John 4:7-21)
